bullet In 2004 SABC 2’s TV soapie Muvhango employed Phoenix Benedict to launch a ‘new sonic look’ and a new season by producing a fresh musical arrangement of their signature tune.
 
bullet Original music (including the audio branding strategy and implementation) for a new TV series that aired (CAT), between July and August 2008 on SABC 1. The title is Shakespeare: Death of a Queen, based on Shakespeare’s Macbeth and the life of Modjadji (Director: Pieter Grobbelaar). Shakespeare: Death of a Queen was the second most watched TV show across South Africa, and it was the most watched local TV mini-series ever in South Africa.

Theatre
bullet Musical arrangement for a local theatre production, called Ladies’ Night, which ran at the Theatre on the Square, in Sandton 2006.

 
bullet A musical that was performed at Sacred Heart College in March 2008. We are currently in negotiations with the Grammy award-winning producer of the Soweto Gospel Choir, Robin Hogarth, to feature the Grammy award-winning Soweto Gospel Choir in the album production of the musical, Ubuntu (a.k.a. Umoya).

bullet A number of songs for the Mosaïek (Johannesburg) spiritual center’s 2008 annual musical entitled Opgehoop. This musical was performed during the end of July 2008.

bullet A solo cello suite recorded by Carel Henn was subsequently re-recorded and used in the Curious Pictures TV mini-series House of Love/Huis van Liefde that aired in March 2008 on SABC 2 (CAT).

bullet Composition and production the music for a children’s marionette show called African Tales, which ran at the UJ Gencor Gallery during December 2001 (Dir: Pieter Grobbelaar).
 
bullet Composition of a variety of musical signature tunes for 90.7 Stereo, 1999. The styles ranged from House to country genres, from ‘Star Wars’-type music to music with a traditional African element.
 
bullet At the end of 1999 Anna Coetzee approached Phoenix Benedict to do colorful arrangements for a number of children’s songs, as well as incidental music for five short children’s stories. This project aims to make music education for toddlers very accessible, and was released in early 2000 (DV). Phoenix Benedict has completed three other similar projects since, with the latest project being completed in 2008.
 
bullet Music composition for a Wits TV pilot programme based on the Cinderella narrative set in Africa, called Monyenyane, 1998.
